Empowering the Need

Ruth 2:1-23

Bishop's Tapes· Minister Dawson· 55 min

“Empowering the Need” ain’t about feeding laziness and calling it mercy. Ruth 2 shows us a woman in need who still had humility, diligence, loyalty, and faithfulness enough to get in the field and work. Ruth didn’t sit around waiting to be noticed—she left Moab, followed Naomi, came under the wings of the God of Israel, and gleaned until her work spoke louder than her mouth ever could. That’s where favor found her. Boaz saw more than a poor stranger; he saw character, obedience, and a virtuous woman walking right. This study will cut against the foolishness of chasing appearance while neglecting substance. Perfume won’t cover a lazy spirit, and good looks won’t replace godly order. Ruth listened to wise counsel, stayed where she was supposed to stay, and didn’t run from field to field looking for trouble. God’s provision came through humility, respect, separation, and steady obedience. If that stings, let it sting. The Lord still recompenses every work—half-hearted or whole-hearted—and He knows exactly what field you’ve been standing in.
