Acts of Deliverance

Luke 4:31-40

“Acts of Deliverance” shows us Jesus walking into darkness with authority—not suggestions, not soft words, but power. In Luke 4:31-40, the unclean spirit knew exactly who He was, and Jesus didn’t bargain with it—He rebuked it. That’s the lesson: you don’t make peace with what came to steal, kill, and destroy. You don’t sit down with the devil and call it wisdom. That “smart” spirit that teaches you to rebel, lie, mock correction, and run from obedience is not helping you—it’s dragging you toward captivity, sickness, destruction, and sometimes even jails and graves. This study is a loving warning: hear the Word, but don’t stop there—be a doer of the Word. God’s Word has power, but you’ve got to submit to it. Jesus is still the Deliverer, still the Healer, still the One laying hands on broken people and setting captives free. But you can’t cling to the spirit that’s destroying you and expect deliverance at the same time. Come out from among it. Rebuke what needs rebuking. Obey God while mercy is still calling your name.
