It Ain't Your Fight

Romans 12:12-21, 2 Chronicles 20:15-22

Elder Dawson· Apr 18, 2027· 59 min

It Ain’t Your Fight—and that’s not a suggestion, that’s a command from God. This study lays it plain: when trouble rises, when enemies lie, persecute, provoke, and press you hard, your job is not to get even. Romans 12 tells you to bless, feed, forgive, live peaceably, rejoice in hope, stay patient in tribulation, and keep praying. That’s hard flesh-killing work, but the Word says what it says. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and if you put your hands on what belongs to Him, don’t be shocked when you make a mess of it. Like Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20, you may have to walk toward the battlefield—but you don’t get to fight your way. Set yourself. Stand still. Sing. Praise. Obey. God knows how to set an ambush the enemy never saw coming. But if you’re busy cursing folks, scheming, talking evil, and trying to “help” God, you’re out of position. This is a lesson in belief, endurance, peace, deliverance, and holy restraint. Stay out of God’s way, keep your heart clean, and let the Lord handle what only the Lord can handle.
