Back to the Basics Pt. 2

Acts 2:37-38, 9:4-5, 19:1-5

In this second part of "Back to the Basics," it’s high time we strip away the confusion around the name above all names—Jesus. Listen up: it ain't enough to skate by on titles like Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Those are roles, not identities. You get bothered by this? Good. Let it stir you into understanding that the bedrock of true salvation isn't about playing fast and loose with the truth. It's about knowing the One who saved you. We see it laid plain when Saul, a wise man in the law, meets Jesus on the Damascus road and gets knocked flat by the revelation that the Lord is Jesus (Acts 9:4-5). Misunderstanding the basics can lead you astray, just like it did Saul until his eyes were opened. If your baptism hasn't been in the name of Jesus, then it's time for a soul check. Paul wasn't afraid to tell believers they needed to shake off old misconceptions and be baptized anew in the name of the Lord Jesus (Acts 19:1-5). You might've been wandering with half-truths and lukewarm beliefs, but you're called to build your faith on a true foundation: one that's Jesus-centered and Spirit-filled. Embrace the truth in love—repent, be baptized in Jesus' name, and receive the Holy Ghost. That's the path. That’s the basics. You don't get to build your house on sand and call it sure. It’s Jesus or bust, and I say it because your soul's worth more than comfort and complacency.
