Water and Spirit

Acts 8:1-27

**Water and Spirit** walks us through Acts 8 and shows that God’s work moves by God’s order—not man’s opinion, money, talent, or ambition. Stephen is killed, the church is scattered, Saul is raging, and still the Gospel marches right into Samaria because persecution couldn’t stop what God had already commanded. Philip preached Christ, devils came out, bodies were healed, people rejoiced, and they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. But hear it plain: baptism wasn’t treated like a religious decoration, and the Holy Ghost wasn’t handled like a side issue. God had an order, and the apostles came down so the Samaritans could receive the Gift of God. This study also puts a hard light on Simon, sorcery, covetousness, and the filthy thought that spiritual power can be bought, sold, or used to make a man great. Peter didn’t pet that spirit—he rebuked it. “Gall of bitterness” and “bond of iniquity” ain’t soft language, and if that cuts, it’s supposed to. The Word says what it says: repent, obey, submit to the truth, and stop trying to bend God’s Kingdom around your own hunger for money, control, or recognition. This ain’t about church games. This is about salvation, the New Birth, the Name of Jesus, and receiving the Holy Ghost God’s way.
