Two Women

Proverbs 9:1-18, 10:1

Bishop's Tapes· Minister Dawson· 42 min

“Two Women” lays Proverbs 9 on the table and doesn’t let us dodge it: one woman is Wisdom, the true Church, with the table already spread—bread, wine, provision, correction, understanding, and life. The other woman is loud, flashy, and false, sitting in high places calling the simple into stolen waters and secret bread. Don’t be fooled by noise, crowds, money, or smooth words. God’s Church calls you to forsake foolishness and live; the false church lets you have it your way and walks you straight into spiritual death. This study is a warning in love: get wisdom, fear God, take correction, and stop playing with scorners, wickedness, and foolish religion. If you can’t be instructed, that says something. If rebuke makes you hate the truth, that says something too. The Word says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and God didn’t stutter. Choose the woman you’ll listen to—but understand this: one leads to life in the house God built, and the other has guests in the depths of hell.
