The Works

Nehemiah 7:70-73, 8:1-6,8-11

Bishop's Tapes· Minister Dawson· 44 min

“The Works” ain’t about building a name, lining a pocket, or making somebody look important. It’s about God’s work being done God’s way. In Nehemiah, the people gave—not to a man, not to a preacher, not to be seen—but to the work. And don’t miss it: God provided what was needed when the people stayed faithful to the assignment. Stop worrying yourself sick over where it’s coming from. If the work is right, God knows how to touch hearts, open hands, and supply the need. But you better keep your motives clean, because what God sends for the work is not yours to waste. And when the walls were up and the people were gathered, something was still missing—the Word of God. Ezra opened the book, gave the sense, and the people saw themselves. That’s when conviction came. That’s when tears came. That’s when repentance got real. This study calls us back to accountability, obedience, holiness, stewardship, and togetherness. You don’t need more noise—you need understanding. You don’t need a preacher to entertain you—you need the Word to find you, cut you, correct you, and restore you. And when God opens your eyes, don’t run from it. Rejoice, repent, and get back to the work.
