The Old Landmark

Proverbs 22:28, Jeremiah 6:1-17

“The Old Landmark” is a hard warning to a church that has gotten too comfortable moving the line God never told us to move. Proverbs 22:28 and Jeremiah 6 don’t leave room for games: when holiness becomes negotiable, when worldly music, false worship, loose standards, rebellion, covetousness, and disobedience walk freely into the house of God, judgment is not far behind. God didn’t call His people to blend in with the world—He called them to come out, be separate, obey instruction, and walk the old paths where the soul finds rest. This study ain’t about nostalgia—it’s about survival. The watchman is sounding the trumpet, and the question is whether your ears are open or covered over with pride. False prophets may cry “peace, peace,” but there is no peace for a backslidden church that refuses correction. If this cuts, let it cut. Better to be wounded by warning than destroyed by rebellion. God is tired of false worship and half-hearted holiness, and when He visits, nobody will be strong enough to hold His hand back.
