The Legion
Mark 5:1-19
The Legion ain’t just a story about a wild man in the tombs—it’s Bible truth about what the devil does when he gets hold of a soul. Mark 5 shows a man bound, isolated, crying, cutting himself, and living among the dead, because unclean spirits don’t come to bless you—they come to steal, kill, and destroy. Don’t dress bondage up and call it freedom. Drugs, drunkenness, self-harm, confusion, and rebellion are not harmless struggles to play with; they are chains. And no chain man can make is strong enough to fix what only Jesus can cast out. But thank God, Jesus still has authority over every devil. Legion had to bow, the unclean spirits had to leave, and the man ended up clothed, seated, and in his right mind. That’s deliverance. That’s compassion. But don’t miss the warning: some folks would rather send Jesus away than let Him disturb their country, their habits, and their sin. This study calls you to stop making peace with the thing that’s destroying you, obey the Word, seek true salvation, be baptized in Jesus’ name, receive the Holy Ghost, and go tell what great things the Lord has done. If that cuts—it’s supposed to. Your soul is worth the warning.
