Skin Game

1 Samuel 16:6-7, Song of Solomon 1:5-6

**Skin Game** tells the truth plain: man still looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart. From Samuel standing in Jesse’s house to Solomon saying, “Look not upon me, because I am black,” this study lays bare the ugly double standard of respect of persons, racial oppression, and the skin problem that has followed humanity through the ages. The world plays its game by color, status, and appearance—but God didn’t stutter. That kind of judging is not His way, and the only thing strong enough to break that blindness is the blood of Jesus and a heart truly born again. But this message doesn’t let anybody hide behind the blame game either. It calls God’s people to wake up, take personal responsibility, build, own, support, endure, and keep moving. If the field ain’t level, don’t sit there crying in the dirt—get up and do what righteousness, wisdom, and perseverance demand. This is about truth, black history, economic self-reliance, and the courage to face reality without hatred and without excuses. If that cuts, it’s supposed to. Truth wounds pride so the soul can stand upright.
