Blaming God

Joshua 7:6-19

**Blaming God** walks straight into Joshua 7 and pulls the cover off a hard truth: sometimes the problem ain’t God’s silence—it’s our sin, our disobedience, our irresponsibility, and our refusal to deal with the cursed thing in the camp. Joshua prayed, cried, and fell on his face, but God told him, “Get up.” Why? Because Israel wasn’t losing for lack of prayer; they were losing because of transgression. Secret sin had public consequences, and God wasn’t going to bless what He had already condemned. This study is a wake-up call against blaming God, blaming people, blaming systems, and hiding behind religion while refusing repentance, confession, stewardship, and obedience. Prayer is holy, but prayer is not a cover for rebellion. The church has responsibility. Leaders have responsibility. Families have responsibility. You don’t get to keep the cursed thing buried under your stuff and then wonder why God’s presence feels far away. If this cuts, it’s supposed to. God is not trying to crush you—He’s calling you to get up, sanctify yourself, face the truth, and make it right.
