Power Struggle

Matthew 20:28, Mark 10:35-44

“Power Struggle” cuts straight into the heart of selfish ambition, especially among those who claim to follow Jesus but still want the seat, the title, and the spotlight. James and John asked for places of honor, but Jesus didn’t flatter their hunger for position—He exposed it. The Kingdom doesn’t run like the Gentiles run things. God’s house ain’t built on men climbing over one another for power. If you want to be great, serve. If you want to be chief, get low. The Word says what it says: Jesus came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. This study is a warning to preachers, leaders, and saints alike: don’t talk about following Jesus while refusing His cup, His baptism, His trouble, and His cross. The Holy Ghost life will cost you. Real leadership means sacrifice, humbleness, persecution, and serving God’s people when nobody’s clapping. If you’re chasing honor without obedience, authority without servitude, or greatness without the cross, this message ought to cut you. And if it cuts—it’s supposed to. Better to be corrected now than exposed later.
