Philip's Acquaintance with Jesus Pt. 2

Acts 1:9-15, 8:4-17,26-38

Bishop's Tapes· Bishop Edwards· 41 min

**Philip’s Acquaintance with Jesus Pt. 2** takes us straight into the Book of Acts, where excuses die and the apostolic pattern stands plain. Philip wasn’t preaching opinions, traditions, or some watered-down gospel—he was preaching Christ, the Kingdom of God, baptism in Jesus’ name, and the necessity of the Holy Ghost. From the Upper Room to Samaria, from miracles and deliverance to laying on of hands, this study shows that the same Gospel Peter, Paul, John, and Philip preached is still the Gospel today. God didn’t stutter, and the apostles didn’t improvise. This message also warns against deception—Simon had a whole city bewitched, but when the truth came, his sorcery had to bow. The Ethiopian eunuch had Scripture in his hand but still needed understanding, and when Philip preached Jesus, the man saw water and asked to be baptized. That ought to settle it. Religion ain’t enough. Church attendance ain’t enough. Reading without obedience ain’t enough. If the Word cuts across your tradition, let it cut—because truth wounds only to save. The Gospel is still calling: repent, believe, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, and receive the Holy Ghost.
