Philip's Acquaintance with Jesus Pt. 1

John 1:43-51, Acts 1:9-13, 8:4-18

“Philip’s Acquaintance with Jesus Pt. 1” takes us back to where a man first meets the Messiah and immediately starts pointing somebody else to Him. Philip didn’t sit around polishing arguments—he told Nathanael, “Come and see.” And when Jesus revealed what no man could know, Nathanael had to confess Him as the Son of God and King of Israel. That’s the kind of encounter this study presses on you: not hearsay, not tradition, not somebody’s denominational fog—but a real confrontation with Jesus Christ and the truth of His Word. Then the message follows the witness into Acts, where Christ is preached, devils come out, joy fills Samaria, believers are baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus, and they receive the Holy Ghost through prayer and laying on of hands. The point is plain: baptism and the Holy Ghost are not decorations on religion—they are part of being born again. Don’t hide behind Church of Christ, Church of God in Christ, family tradition, or whatever label raised you. The Word says what it says. If that cuts, it’s supposed to. God is calling you out of confusion, deception, and half-truths into obedience. Come and see—but when you see it, don’t run from it.
