Love Thy Neighbor Pt. 1

Luke 10:29-35

Bishop's Tapes· Bishop Edwards· 39 min

Love Thy Neighbor Pt. 1 ain’t about smiling at the man next door and calling that Christianity. Jesus answered the lawyer’s self-justifying question with a wounded man in a ditch, a priest who crossed over, a Levite who looked and left, and a Samaritan who actually did something. That’s the cut right there: compassion is not a word you preach—it’s an act you perform. Love binds wounds. Love pours in oil and wine. Love spends what it has. Love stops the bleeding. This study calls out religious hypocrisy without blinking—church folk with full storehouses and empty mercy, leaders who preach one thing and practice another, places meant for deliverance turned into a den of thieves. If that stings, let it sting. God didn’t call us to justify ourselves while our brother lies half dead. He called us to obey, to give, to heal, to care for the needy, and to prove our faith by good works. Your neighbor is the one bleeding in front of you. Don’t cross over. Go to him.
