Jesus Became Our Savior

Hebrews 2:5-12,14-15

Jesus Became Our Savior ain’t a soft little lesson—it’s the heart of the Gospel laid bare. Hebrews 2 shows us why Jesus had to take on flesh and blood: the Spirit couldn’t bleed, but sin demanded blood; death had a sting, and somebody had to take it. So Jesus stepped into humanity, was made lower than the angels, suffered death, and broke the devil’s hold over those who lived all their lives in bondage to the fear of death. That’s grace, but don’t you dare treat it cheap. The Savior didn’t hang on that cross so we could play church and pet our transgressions. This study calls us into the Ark of Safety—the Body of Christ—where self has to die, pride has to bow, and everything must become one under God. Like ingredients in a cake, you don’t keep your old identity and call it sanctification. You lose yourself in Him. Through baptism, obedience, cross-bearing, love, and trust in God’s provision, the people of God are brought into peace. The Word says what it says: if you want life in the world to come, you must be born again, deny yourself, and look unto Jesus—the Captain of Salvation who tasted death so you could walk through only its shadow.
