Helping God’s People

Nehemiah 5:12-19

“Helping God’s People” ain’t a soft little lesson about being nice—it’s a hard call to fear God, keep your promises, and carry the burden when His people are under bondage. Nehemiah didn’t use his position to drain the people dry like the governors before him. He denied himself, stayed on the wall, fed others, and refused to take what he could have claimed because the load on the people was already heavy. That’s godly leadership: not taking advantage, not hiding behind titles, but standing in the gap when trouble is pressing in. This study warns us plain: God sees how we treat His people. You can’t play church, make promises, exploit the weak, and think heaven didn’t notice. God can shake a man out of his house, his labor, and his comfort if he refuses to do right. But to the faithful—the few still bearing the burden, still helping others, still serving when it costs—God remembers. So wake up, fear God, and put your hands to the work. If nobody else stands, you stand. If nobody else helps, you help. This ain’t optional; this is the work of God.
