For Our Learning

1 Corinthians 10:3-11

“For Our Learning” is a sober warning from 1 Corinthians 10: God can bring you out, feed you spiritual meat, give you spiritual drink, and still not be pleased with you if your heart runs after evil. Israel had deliverance, provision, and the Rock following them—and many still fell in the wilderness. That ought to shake every baptized, church-going soul awake. Don’t get proud because God blessed you. Don’t get careless because He provided. The same God who opens doors also judges murmuring, fornication, idolatry, unthankfulness, and rebellion. This study is a pastoral warning with fire in it: take a stand, tell the truth, repent while mercy is still calling, and stop playing with temptation like judgment is a bedtime story. These things were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. God didn’t put Israel’s failures in the Book for decoration—He put them there so we’d fear Him, obey Him, and not die in a wilderness He meant to bring us through. If that cuts, it’s supposed to. Better truth wound you now than sin destroy you later.
