Disobedience

Joshua 6:27, 7:1-26

Disobedience ain’t a small thing just because you hid it well. In Joshua 7, one man—Achan—took the accursed thing, buried it in his tent, and brought defeat on all Israel. Jericho fell when God was with them, but Ai whipped them when sin was in the camp. That’s the lesson: it ain’t the size of your enemy that matters—it’s whether God’s presence is with you. Hidden sin, covetousness, stealing, and stubborn refusal to confess will trouble more than just you. It can touch your house, your family, and the people standing beside you. This study is a hard warning in love: don’t wait until God drags the thing into the light before you admit it. Confession after you’re caught ain’t the same as repentance when grace is calling. Joshua had to get up from the ground and deal with the sin, because prayer won’t replace obedience. God didn’t stutter—destroy the accursed thing, or He will not be with you. If that cuts, it’s supposed to. Better to be wounded by truth now than ruined by disobedience later.
