2 Chronicles 23:21, 24:1-27

The House of God is not first about bricks, budgets, and buildings—it’s about people. This study walks straight through 2 Chronicles 24 and shows what happens when God’s house is neglected, when leaders refuse their duty, and when people drift because truth is no longer being faithfully upheld. Joash looked right while he was under godly oversight, but once the priest was gone and flattering voices got in his ear, everything turned. That’s the warning: borrowed obedience won’t last, and a heart that only looks right will eventually show itself. God didn’t stutter. His house must be repaired, and that starts with His people being taught, corrected, strengthened, and called back from deception, idolatry, and spiritual ruin. This study also puts a sharp edge on things folks love to play with—money, marriage, leadership, and obedience. The preacher’s job is not to fleece the flock or sit idle while the temple falls apart. The calling is to care for the house of God, and in this day, that means souls. If that cuts, it’s supposed to. There’s a difference between serving God and just hanging around holy things until the right voice dies and the wrong voices take over. This message is a loving warning against lukewarmness, false direction, and stubborn pride. Stay with God. Stay with the truth. Because when you forsake Him, trouble won’t be far behind.
