The Commission of the Apostles Pt. 1

Acts 1:1-20

JMS OG· Elder Dawson· Jul 6, 2025· 57 min

When Jesus commanded His apostles, He didn't send them out with empty words; He armed them with His Spirit. "The Commission of the Apostles" delves into Acts 1:1-20, where our Lord gave His final marching orders with unyielding clarity. These weren't suggestions but commandments charged with purpose: preach the Gospel with power, unity, and unashamed boldness. He dealt firmly with misunderstandings, ensuring His chosen understood the need for the Holy Ghost. Without the Spirit, they were aimless; with Him, they were vessels of the Gospel. This ain’t up for debate—it’s divine mandate. You've got to understand—obedience isn’t an option. You think you’re following Christ? Where's the proof? Don't you dare stand in lethargy when He has bestowed upon you the Comforter, the Holy Ghost enlisted to empower you beyond your fleshly limitations. This study isn’t about head knowledge; it’s about heart transformation that leads to action. If you’ve been sitting idly, it's time to check your spirit and align with God’s eternal commission. Jesus isn’t looking for spectators—He’s calling witnesses emboldened by His Spirit to carry His truth to the ends of the earth. Heed the call, or risk standing empty in the day of reckoning.
