Doer of the Word Pt. 2

1 John 2:1-22

The Word is clear in 1 John 2: be a doer, not just a hearer. God didn't mince words and neither will I. If last week you merely listened, this week's your chance to act. It’s not enough to nod your head in service and live unchanged. James tells you, “Be doers of the word” (James 1:22). Are you gonna let it slip by, only to hear “depart from me”? That’s on you if you hear and refuse to do. You’ve got no excuse; obedience is the litmus test of genuine faith. Make no mistake—this ain’t optional. And if it cuts, that's what it's supposed to do because truth pierces the heart before it purifies. Let’s talk about love and light, because you can't fake those. You say you’re in the light, but hate your brother? You're in darkness. Plain and simple. You can wear a cross around your neck, but if love isn’t in your heart, the only person you're fooling is yourself. The shadows may have blinded your eyes, but truth can still illuminate your path. Repentance is the key here. It turns the heart back to God’s commandments, where true obedience resides. And John isn’t jesting when he describes the stakes. If you’re comfortable in your sin, I urge you: wake up. This world will pass away, but the one who does the will of God lasts forever. This isn’t just a warning; it’s a loving plea. Your soul is on the line, and it’s time to choose the light.
