The Mirror

James 1:18-25

Bishop's Tapes· Bishop Edwards· 1 hr 7 min

“The Mirror” lays James 1 right in front of your face and dares you to stop looking past yourself. The Word of Truth ain’t a decoration, and it ain’t something to hear on Sunday and forget by Monday. It is God’s mirror—showing the filthiness, the self-deception, the loose tongue, the disobedience, the backsliding, and the places where we’ve crossed His will while still claiming His name. If that cuts, it’s supposed to. God didn’t send His Word to flatter you; He sent it to save your soul. This study is a hard call to be doers of the Word, not hearers only. Christ died to bring us into His will, to make us new creatures, firstfruits, a holy people with a pure heart and an inheritance—but you don’t get to live in rebellion and call it grace. Receive the engrafted Word with meekness. Lay aside the mess. Stand in holiness. Train your children. Forsake what must be forsaken. The mirror is mercy, but if you walk away unchanged, don’t blame God—you fooled yourself.
