The Importance of the Land

Deuteronomy 11:7-20

“The Importance of the Land” is a wake-up call, plain and unpolished: God’s blessings are not floating in the air somewhere—they are tied to obedience, provision, inheritance, and the very ground He gives His people to possess. In Deuteronomy 11, Moses doesn’t preach fantasy; he preaches commandments, rain, cattle, corn, oil, milk and honey. The land feeds you, teaches you dependence on God, and reminds you that every good thing comes from His hand. If that cuts against the way we’ve been taught to chase cities, status, and man-made security, then let it cut. This study warns against deception, idolatry, and the lack of knowledge that leaves people poor, dependent, and blind to God’s works right under their feet. The preacher stands like a mailman with a hard message: obey God, love Him with all your heart, teach your children, and don’t let the devil or the world rob you of what God meant for your life. This ain’t just about dirt—it’s about blessing, survival, responsibility, and whether you recognize the God who sends the first rain and the latter rain.
