The Church

Luke 17:26-27, Isaiah 11:1-9

Bishop's Tapes· Bishop Edwards· 44 min

“The Church” ain’t a social club, a hiding place for sin, or a synagogue where folks do what they please and still call it God. This study lays it plain: as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man. The ark was open, the preacher cried, the warning went out—and still they kept eating, drinking, marrying, laughing, and making excuses until judgment shut the door. Don’t fool yourself saying you would’ve gone in then if you won’t come in now. All things are ready, but your excuses won’t float when the flood comes. This is a call to the real Church—the one built by Christ, filled with the Holy Ghost, grounded in righteousness, wisdom, understanding, and the fear of the Lord. In God’s Church, wolves don’t devour lambs, lies don’t rule the house, and the poor aren’t trampled under proud feet. There is peace on His holy mountain, but you don’t get there by flattery, tradition, or lukewarm religion. You must be born again, come from among them, and line up with the Word. If that cuts, it’s supposed to. Better to be cut now and healed than to be comfortable outside the ark when the rain starts falling.
