The Ant

Proverbs 6:1-9

“The Ant” ain’t about a little insect—it’s about wisdom, order, and waking up before your own mouth drags you into trouble. Proverbs 6 warns the child of God to be careful with promises, surety, debt, strangers, and friendships that can snare the soul and empty the house. God didn’t put those words there for decoration. If your mouth got you bound, humble yourself and seek deliverance now—not tomorrow, not when it gets worse, now. Then Solomon says, “Go to the ant,” and he means it. Look at her diligence, her preparation, her sacrifice, her unity, her labor without needing somebody to stand over her with a stick. The ant provides in summer, protects the young, serves the colony, and stays in her place. That’ll preach to the Church. Everybody wants blessing, but too many don’t want obedience, order, or work. How long you gonna sleep, sluggard? And even after you wake up—when you gonna get up? If that cuts, it’s supposed to. God is calling His people to wisdom, watchfulness, provision, and holy responsibility.
