Still Stretched Out

Isaiah 9:8-21, 10:1-5

“Still Stretched Out” is a hard warning wrapped in mercy. Isaiah shows Israel stiff-necked, disobedient, misled by leaders, burning in wickedness, and suffering under God’s chastisement—yet after every blow comes that same holy refrain: His hand is stretched out still. Don’t get it twisted: God’s mercy does not mean God ignores sin. He will deal with rebellion, hypocrisy, false prophets, unrighteous decrees, and the oppression of the fatherless and widows. The Word says what it says—you can fight it, or you can fall on your knees. But hear the love in it: even when God corrects, He is still reaching. His arm is not too short, His ear is not too dull, and His grace has not run dry. If you’re stubborn, drifting, or sitting under leaders who cause you to err, this study calls you back to the truth before the day of visitation comes. God has given His people what they need—we’ve got to blend together, forgive, obey, and seek Him. His hand is still stretched out, but you’ve got to reach for it.
