Running Your Mouth

Numbers 12:1-16

Bishop's Tapes· Minister Dawson· 51 min

“Running Your Mouth” is a hard warning from Numbers 12: God hears what you say, even when the person you’re slandering stays meek and silent. Miriam and Aaron started with Moses’ wife, but the real poison was jealousy, rebellion, and self-exaltation—“Has God only spoken by Moses?” That tongue will dress up pride like concern, but God knows the heart. And when you put your mouth on God’s servant, you are not just having a conversation—you may be stepping into judgment. This study calls the church to shut down murmuring, slander, and false spiritual confidence before it holds everybody up. Don’t get carried away because you had a dream, heard a voice, or think you got a word—Satan can quote Scripture too. If God is speaking, He knows how to confirm it in order. This ain’t about protecting a man’s ego; it’s about honoring God’s authority, walking in meekness, and keeping your mouth from becoming a weapon against your own soul. God didn’t stutter: life and death are in the tongue. If that cuts, it’s supposed to.
