Responsibility of the Preacher

Jonah 1:1-17, 2:1-2

**Responsibility of the Preacher** is a hard wake-up call to every man who claims God called him to preach. Jonah didn’t run from a church program—he ran from a divine commission, and his disobedience put everybody around him in danger. This study lays it plain: the preacher is God’s mouthpiece, God’s watchman, God’s messenger to cry against wickedness, call for repentance, and tell people the truth that can save their souls. If the preacher sleeps in the storm, the people suffer in the ship. If he runs to Tarshish when God said Nineveh, judgment follows him down. This ain’t about glamour, titles, hoops, or handclaps. A preacher who won’t preach obedience, holiness, salvation, and the apostles’ doctrine is not helping folks—he’s leading them blind toward hell. God had mercy on Nineveh, but He still required a preacher to go warn them. That means the calling is serious, the accountability is heavy, and the Word must be preached straight. If that cuts, it’s supposed to. Better to be cut by truth now than swallowed by judgment later.
