One Without the Other Pt. 1

Acts 8:14-17, Acts 10:1-22

Bishop's Tapes· Bishop Edwards· 37 min

“One Without the Other Pt. 1” puts a hard Bible line through the confusion: water baptism in Jesus’ name is not a substitute for the Holy Ghost, and being religious, prayerful, generous, or well-respected is not the same as being born again. Acts 8 shows Samaria baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus, yet still needing the Holy Ghost. Acts 10 shows Cornelius—a devout man who feared God, prayed always, and gave alms—still needing the preacher God sent to tell him what he ought to do. God didn’t stutter, and the Book of Acts doesn’t leave room for denominational excuses. This study is a warning in love: don’t let false doctrine hand you half a gospel and call it salvation. Death is real, judgment is coming, and every soul is going to stand before God. You can argue with Peter, wrestle with the apostles, or submit to the Word—but you don’t get to rewrite the plan of salvation. If that cuts, it’s supposed to. Better to be wounded by truth now than deceived all the way to eternity.
