Kidney of the Church

Zechariah 3:1-7

“Kidney of the Church” lays it plain: God’s house has a cleansing order, and it ain’t built on gossip, rebellion, or dirty jokes about the very ones called to labor for your soul. In Zechariah 3, Joshua the high priest stands in filthy garments—not because God is weak, but because sin is real, Satan resists, and somebody has to carry the burden before the Lord. The preacher is shown like a kidney in the Body of Christ, filtering poison through confession, intercession, correction, and the Word. If that cuts, it’s supposed to. You don’t get healed by hiding poison. But don’t miss the greater glory: Jesus is the true High Priest. He didn’t enter the Holy of Holies with the blood of bullocks and goats—He came with His own blood, paid the price, rose from the grave, and made forgiveness possible. This study is a hard warning and a holy reminder: respect God’s order, confess your sin, trust the blood, and don’t play with salvation. The devil wants filthy garments to be the final word, but God says, “Take them away.” That’s mercy—but mercy still demands you come clean.
