Nehemiah 1:9-11, 2:3-8

God Getting You Ready Pt. 2 puts us right beside Nehemiah—not strutting into God’s presence, but bowed low, confessing sin, standing on the Word, and pleading for mercy. This study shows what real preparation looks like: repentance before assignment, humility before favor, prayer before action. Nehemiah didn’t come with pride in his chest; he came with a burden for God’s people and a broken heart over Jerusalem’s walls. And hear this plain: God doesn’t hand holy work to careless people. If you want restoration, you don’t just talk about God’s promises—you turn, keep His commandments, and do them. This is a hard reminder that God’s hand still makes a way where captivity, lack, fear, and opposition say there is none. Nehemiah had no power of his own, but God gave him words, favor with King Artaxerxes, letters for the journey, timber for the work, and mercy for the mission. That’s divine guidance. That’s provision. That’s grace. But don’t miss it: the man was ready because he prayed, confessed, feared God, and cared about more than his own comfort.
