God Demands a Just Society, and Jeremiah 22 makes it plain: God is not impressed with big houses, fine buildings, religious talk, or prosperity built on the backs of mistreated people. Woe to the man who builds by unrighteousness, withholds fair wages, ignores the poor and needy, sheds innocent blood, and calls it success. That ain’t blessing—that’s covetousness dressed up in church clothes. The Lord said knowing Him is tied to doing justice, loving your neighbor, and judging the cause of the poor. If that cuts, it’s supposed to. This study is a hard warning to a people who heard God in prosperity and still said, “I will not hear.” That road leads to captivity, shame, and judgment. The preacher’s job is not to entertain, get rich, or build monuments while the people sit on welfare and food stamps with no future. The preacher’s job is to cry aloud, tell the truth, and lead God’s people back to righteousness, community, the land, and the spirit of “all things common” seen in the Book of Acts. God didn’t stutter: oppression, violence, slavery, and wickedness will not stand forever. Repent, obey, and do justice while there’s still time.
