Faith and Humility

James 4:1-10,13-17

Bishop's Tapes· Bishop Edwards· 1 hr 4 min

Faith and Humility ain’t about talking religious while your heart stays proud, selfish, and worldly. James 4 lays it bare: wars, fighting, envy, lust, boasting, asking amiss, and friendship with the world have no business living in the Body of Christ. Real faith is not a fleshly high that puffs you up for a season—it is the Spirit of God working daily, pushing you to obey His Word and bow low while you do it. If God gives, God gets the glory. You’re just the servant. Don’t get swollen because He used your hands. This study is a hard warning in love: knowing to do good and refusing to do it is sin. God didn’t ask for your excuses, your pride, or your plans made without Him. He said submit, resist the devil, draw near, cleanse your hands, purify your heart, and humble yourself under His mighty hand. The Word says what it says. You can wrestle with it, or you can obey it. Faith works through obedience, and humility keeps you from stealing God’s credit. If that cuts—it’s supposed to.
