Ex Slaves: Processing the Land

Joshua 1:1-8, James 3:5-6

“Ex Slaves: Processing the Land” is a wake-up call to redeemed people who’ve been delivered but still don’t know what belongs to them. Joshua wasn’t written for comfortable spectators—it was marching orders for ex-slaves standing between bondage and inheritance. God told them to be strong, courageous, obedient, and anchored in the Book of the Law. Not feelings. Not funny traditions. Not somebody’s revised version of truth. The Word says meditate day and night, don’t turn right or left, and then you’ll have good success. That ain’t optional—it’s the road out of Egypt and into what God promised. But don’t shout about the land while your tongue is setting your house on fire. James says the tongue is a world of iniquity, and if that cuts, it’s supposed to. Hell fire can start right in your mouth, and too many born-again folks are dragging the old man around while claiming the new man. This study calls God’s people—especially those remembering the weight of Black history and deliverance—to wake up, walk the old paths, obey the Holy Ghost, and stop living like slaves when God has called them sons. This ain’t about pride. It’s about inheritance, holiness, and a God who will not fail nor forsake His people.
