Doing the Word

Hebrews 12:14-15, Deuteronomy 29:9-18

Doing the Word ain’t about sitting through Bible class, nodding your head, and walking out the same disobedient soul you came in as. Hebrews 12 says follow peace and holiness, because without holiness no man shall see the Lord—and God didn’t stutter. This study puts a hard light on the difference between talking the Word and doing it, between making promises with your mouth and living covenant with your feet. If you say it, do it. If you vowed it, keep it. If God commanded it, obey it. This message also warns about that deadly root—bitterness, envy, jealousy, hatred, malice—that springs up quiet and troubles many. Don’t play with it. Dig it out before it drags you, your family, or a whole congregation away from God. Deuteronomy 29 reminds us we are standing before God this day, not hiding behind titles, excuses, or church attendance. Holiness is not optional, obedience is not lip service, and grace is not something to trample under your feet. If this cuts, it’s supposed to—because your soul is worth telling the truth for.
