Clean up Your Act

Matthew 7:1-8

**Clean up Your Act** is not a polite suggestion—it’s a command to stop playing church while your own house is out of order. Matthew 7 lays it bare: don’t run around judging your brother’s speck while a beam is blinding your own eye. That’s hypocrisy, and the Lord called it what it is. Before you shout about “ask, seek, and knock,” you’d better deal with verses 1 through 6—repentance, self-examination, brotherly love, and getting that wicked heart straight. God didn’t promise answered prayer to folks who refuse to clean up, stop slandering, and submit to His way. This study is a wake-up call for families, churches, and communities that have been crippled by selfishness, strife, evil associations, and excuses. Our children are paying for grown folks’ foolishness, and jails are being built while churches sit divided. The church still has power, but only when God’s people quit fighting leadership, quit trampling holy things, and start working together in obedience. If this cuts, it’s supposed to. Not to shame you—but to save you, your household, and the generation coming behind you.
